Plants for Wet, Boggy, Water

Points to remember: 

Some plants for boggy situations can be quite invasive but they are often less so in dry conditions

Our plants are not suitable for planting directly in pond margins as they contain a soil insecticide that might harm pond life. Wash off all soil from the roots and replant in special pond compost or unfertilised garden soil.

Cirsium    
Cornus  
Eupatorium  
Euphorbia griffithii, palustris and possibly others    
Geum rivale types  
Helenium Surprisingly perhaps. Not bigelovii types    
Hemerocallis Most types but Tetraploids seem to be less able to cope  
Iris sibirica, chrysographes, ensata, psuedacorus chrysographes, ensata, psuedacorus Ensata, psuedacorus
Lobelia not tupa and laxiflora cardinalis types only cardinalis types perform well in summer but are a bit more dodgy over winter, but worth a go.
Lysimachia  
Lythrum
Molinia  
Monarda    
Persicaria Definately affinis, amplexicaulis and bistorta. We haven't tried the others  
Primula beesiana   
Salvia   uliginosa (Bog Sage) uliginosa (Bog Sage)  
Schizostylis Currently being trialed as a marginal - results unknown.
