Plants for Late Colour

Points to remember:

By late flowering we mean plants that are blooming attractively in at least October.

With perennials late colour comes from flowers that start late, flower for a long period into the autumn or re-bloom in the autumn if cut back hard after initial spring / summer flowering. late flowering is very weather dependent - mildness and sunniness of autumn, ample moisture in summer etc.

Some perennials and grasses provide late foliage colour.

Below is a selection of plants from our range that have given us great late colour in most years. Hover your mouse pointer over the orange dots for additional notes. We haven't included plants that rarely or freakishly flower late in season.
