This is something new in Heleniums, claiming to be the first “double flowered” variety. In fact it isn’t a true double: the flowers actually have fewer (c14) petals (ray florets) than the norm (c18-22), but each petal has 4 layers giving a very double appearance. The flowers are also quite small. It has stout stems reaching about 3ft 3in / 100cm. It is said to be sterile but we have not yet verified this.

Double Trouble is one of the few Heleniums with European Plant Varietal Rights (PVR).
