Malva:

Common name: Mallow.

Hollyhock-like flowers on short, bushy plants. Native to Europe including some species in Britain. Good in any type of soil in full sun.

These are good doers and very easy to grow. Propagate by seed or by dividing in spring.

Cut down in late autumn to avoid wind-rock to the roots over winter.

Perfect Partners: Both enjoying well-drained soils and flowering all summer, Malva mauritiana is made even more flamboyant by the airy, pale pink of Geranium Katherine Adele in our garden at the end of June.
