This page tells you about:

Our Plants: All the plants we sell are grown by us here in Hankelow and over 90% are propagated from our gardens. Plants are hard grown - no heat and little glass cover. We think this produces a better plant for the garden, but it does mean that some plants aren't ready first thing in the year. We normally start sending out mail order plants from April onwards. All plants are produced in very small numbers. If we sell out we are normally try and propagate some more bit there may be a delay whilst these root etc.

We use reduced peat composts mixed here to our own recipes. The little brown or blue spheres you may find in our compost are controlled release fertiliser granules. The blue grains are vine weevil control powder. All plants are treated against vine weevil and therefore are not edible and must not be planted in ponds or water courses without first washing off all the compost.

We don't use glass cover and artificial heat so all plants are fully hardened off before posting.

The plants we send are as described on this website and all photos are of the actual varieties we send. Photos are not enhanced in any way.  Heights and flowering times vary with soil, growing conditions, gardening practice etc. We quote averages for our garden. Hardiness, growing conditions and cultural care instructions are based on what works for us and our experience in our garden. If we know of any other factors that might influence hardiness and ease of culture we set this out in the description. Plants are thoroughly checked and apparently healthy when they leave us. Once you have received the plants your responsibility is to treat them with normal gardening skill and care, unpacking and planting / potting them immediately and ensuring they are adequately watered until well established.

We do not sell seeds.

At certain times of year we have to cut back plants either for good cultural reasons or to be able to package them.
