Filipendula:

(Common Name: Dropwort). Reminiscent of Spirea in flower with mounds of ferny foliage. They ar esurface rooting so will benefit from a mulch in summer. Some types must have very moist soil to thrive. 

Propagate by division in autumn or spring.

Filipendula hexapetala Flore Pleno: Double flowered form blooming in early to mid summer. This form only grows to about 1ft  - 1ft 6in tall. Grows well in wet or dry soils in sun.
