Echium russicum:
Hardy and
perennial forming rosettes of narrow leaves and flowering on tall (2ft
6in) spikes in May - July. Interest is remained by the calyxes of the
flowers that remain on the stems after the flowers fade. We
saw this at The Dorothy Clive Garden in June in 2010 (pictured right)
