Perfect Partners: Erigeron Schneewittchen in our garden (June) mixes well with other pastel colours like those of Linaria Canon Went, Penstemon digitalis Husker Red Erigeron:

Common Name: Fleabane). A lovely genus of flowers reminiscent of Asters but flowering earlier in summer and completely pest and disease free. They have rayed, daisy flowers. Erigeron karvinskianus  has tiny (1cm daisies) but the hybrid varieties have larger (4-6cm) flowers in bright colours and often with semi-double or double petals. All grow well in sun or light shade and do not need staking. The main flush of flower is from early summer, but most will rebloom in autumn if cut back to the ground after the first flowers fade. NB in our experience if plants are simply deadheaded they do not rebloom - read more about this in our garden diary for October 2011.

Attractive to bees and butterflies.

Erigeron Blue Double

A variety we inherited  from Martin's Mum's garden so we don't know its proper name for certain but it could be "Adria".  Fairly tall for an Erigeron at about 2ft 3in. Glorious double flowers from May to July, sometimes again autumn.

Perfect Partners: In our garden with Scabiosa ochroleuca, Salvia transsylvanica and Campanula lactiflora - lovely!

Erigeron Dignity
