This is a plant acquired from Germany that is completely different to the other Goldlackzwerg in our collection and more akin to the plant described in the 1961 RHS trial of Heleniums.  The plant is not particularly dwarf ("Zwerg") - about 3ft tall and bright red streaked with gold - very lovely. The fresh leaves are narrow and bronzed when young. It is one of the few Heleniums that doesn’t respond to deadheading.
