Centaurea
woronowii
White-centred, pink cornflowers.
Silver-backed feathery leaves.
A large, imposing plant forming a mound
of attractive foliage about 2ft 6in tall and about 3ft wide. The flowers
are held on arching stems just above the foliage and they emerge from
pretty, bronze buds. Blooming starts in May and continues in flushes
right through to November.
A star plant deserving of space to show
itself off to the full.

There is some debate as to the correct naming of this
plant. It is very similar to C.
nogmovii, but there are some subtle differences in bud and form
when grown side-by-side.
