Centaurea
triumfettii 'Hoar Frost'
White with a breath of pink cornflowers with mauve
stamens. Ground
hugging grey-green leaves. The flower stems
reach about 8 - 12in tall. Flowers from May - June and again later in summer. Drought tolerant
and needs well drained soil. Best in a sunny spot.
Hoar
Frost is one of the most delicate looking Centaureas with its near-white,
pink-flushed flowers. Its looks belie its tough constitution - it shrugs
off drought and puts up with poor soils. However, we found this year that
it really responds to a bit of fresh, fertile soil and flowers with great
vigour when pampered in spring time.
